Administrative Assistant – based primarily at The Fields Nursery School, Galfrid Road, Cambridge, CB5 8ND)
We are seeking to appoint a friendly, efficient and pro-active Administrative Assistant for our busy nursery school and Castle Special School (based at The Fields)

35 hrs per week Term Time only plus training days and 2 weeks in the holidays (to be negotiated)
Pay range: NJC Scale 7 – 11 depending on experience

We are looking for:

  • The ability to work well with other staff members
  • Previous administrative experience & excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Someone who is well motivated and approachable with a positive attitude
  • Be able to plan and prioritise workload and demonstrate excellent organisational skills
  • Someone with commitment, enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humour
  • Someone who will maintain and promote the caring, positive ethos of the school

Cambridge Nursery Federation is looking for dedicated volunteer governors to join our governing body and support our outstanding nursery schools. We oversee three nursery school sites in central Cambridge, providing high-quality early years education to local families. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your skills, insights, and enthusiasm to ensure every child gets the best start in life.

What Does a Nursery School Governor Do?

As a governor, you will:
✅ Help set the vision and direction of our three nursery schools
✅ Support and challenge leadership to ensure high-quality education
✅ Oversee budgets and policies to ensure effective management
✅ Make a real impact on the lives of local children and families

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and sections of the community. No prior experience in education is required—just a commitment to making a positive difference. Skills in finance, HR, fundraising or community engagement are particularly valuable, but the most important thing is your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute.
